"Cite them Right: the essential guide to referencing and plagiarism"
by Richard Pears and Graham Shields

Cite Them Right

'Cite them Right' is an essential piece of reading for students and academics. Increased awareness and media coverage of plagiarism has resulted in a growing concern in education. As technology becomes more commonly used as a learning tool, 'Cite them Right' offers clear advice on how to avoid falling into the trap of plagiarism and provide correct references.

Teaching students how to cite accurately and correctly is a step in the right direction towards stamping out plagiarism, and Richard Pears and Graham Shields provide students with the guidance that they need with 'Cite them Right' being of equal value to academics, researchers and prospective authors.

'Cite them Right' is available in both hard copy and as an electronic version. It is a publication that contains detailed examples of citations using both the Harvard (Author-date) and British Standard (Numeric) systems. As well as giving help on the correctly citing the usual reference materials, it also provides information on referencing newer technology such as the Internet, weblogs, text messages and virtual learning environments (VLEs).

In the latest edition, a new chapter is included detailing the major pitfalls in plagiarism and how best to avoid them.
